2.2 WhatsApp Web Conversation Data

The Chrome extension runs on WhatsApp Web and observes the open chat’s DOM so it can show Translate / Summary controls next to incoming messages. That local observation is required for the UI and stays in your browser until you trigger an AI action.

When you click an AI feature (Translate, Summary, Polish, etc.), the extension may send:

• the selected message text
• your draft reply (for Polish)
• recent conversation context from the open chat (typically the last few messages)

to the WAPilotAI backend, which forwards the request to AI model providers to generate a result.

Important:

• Network transfer of message content happens only when you actively request an AI feature.
• WAPilotAI does not permanently store WhatsApp message bodies in its application database.
• You will be asked to confirm AI processing consent in the extension before the first AI call.

2.3 Technical Information

We may collect:

• browser type
• extension version
• operating system
• anonymous usage statistics
• error logs

This helps us improve reliability and security.

Provider retention policies apply to content sent for inference. We configure providers for service delivery and do not use customer conversations for advertising.

5. WhatsApp Data Privacy

WAPilotAI operates as an assistant tool on top of WhatsApp Web.

We:

• process message content for AI only when you trigger a feature
• do not access WhatsApp contacts as a separate data set
• do not sell conversation data
• do not use customer conversations for advertising

Users remain responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authorization to process customer communications.
